Over years most communities in Tanzania are fighting against social and environmental  problems including poverty, ignorance, diseases and climatic changes.

ZION COMMUNITY  is excited to work with you so as to improve a well being of a society and bring hope among society members

We expect the volunteers to be able to interact positively with the community around them and to be able to exchange culture and ideas.

From the moment you set your foot on Tanzanian soil, we will be there to meet you and assist you throughout your volunteering until you say goodbye.

ACCOMMODATION

Volunteer’s houses, hostels, dormitories and host families are available. Living with a host family is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and get behind the scene look at what daily life is like in your host’s local community. Interestingly! Your host family will offer you a safe and secure home away from your homeland. Unfortunately! Most of hosts families speak Swahili (jambo, hakuna matata) simple as it sound and a little English but take advantage of this and try your hand and practicing a new language.

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

We assure a safety of all volunteers by carefully vetting host families and keep them connected with in-country coordinates and local field staff for supporting our volunteering projects.

RESEARCHERS

Zion community is seeking and providing a platform for academicians or skilled volunteers and interns to help them in researching into any of those topics  or any others that may assist them as well as local community. Volunteers will be able to live and research within the local community.

FINALLY

While volunteering with Zion community in Tanzania you will get a chance to do excursions,local safaris,visiting Materuni and Napuru waterfalls,Lake duluti, Lake Vicoria, Saanane Island National Park, Maasai village, participating in coffee tours, climbing mount Kilimanjaro, mount Meru , visiting national parks like  Serengeti , Tarangire national park (home of elephants), Ngorongoro Conservation Area and participate in various weekend adventure trips,bird watching safaris and finally finishing up your internship or volunteering time by relaxing on famous beaches of Zanzibar (stone town )

VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITIES

  • Environmental conservation measures with Zion team. The famous Chinese proverb says” The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now” you are warmly welcomed to collaborate with ZCEL in planting trees, flowers and shrubs to conserve environment and make a neighborhood look better and benefit community for years. 
  • Create hygiene bags for the poor community.Collect soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, deodorants, feminine hygiene products and hand sanitizers to provide hygiene bags for the homeless and poor community in Tanzania.
  • Create meal kits for thanksgiving dinners.Build a meal kits for the needy and enjoying meal together with Zion community team beneficiaries.
  • Farm work.Volunteering on a farm is a great way to get back with nature.  Have you passion for animals? Volunteering with Zion team at the local community to build shelter for animals, feeding cattle, keeping farms with local farmers, taking  Dogs on walks and cleaning cages.
  • Volunteer in local schools.Help kids with school and after school classes by teaching anything from math to reading.
  • Build little free library for the children.This can be an excellent resources for the children who live far away from the town libraries.
  • Assist churches with services.Volunteer to assist local Churches in the community that might need help with building and maintenance , religious books and teachings.
  • Paint old buildings and schools.It’s amazing what a fresh coat of a paint can do. Volunteer a touch up paint job on community buildings in need like schools and churches.
  • Medical volunteering with Zion Community.We invited healthcare professionals or a student , you can volunteer by offering your skills and knowledge to provide medical care and services to people particularly in underserved affected areas
